And-o predicts that Burke will be forced to make a move soon for a goaltender. And-o thinks that it will likely be a play for J.S. Giguere (if/when healthy). The move would save Anaheim cap space.
The Leafs can only slow the bleeding with a 'world beater' of a netminder. They have ZERO offense and even less confidence!
They may not win 20 games this season.
...Boston could/should move their own 1st overall pick in order to go for the Cup (since they will likely have a top 3 pick from Toronto...this AND next year)!

TO got to play a team playing worse then them.
No doubt about it, Ducks are terrible. Getz is the only player not marred in minus numbers. They're looking like they'll need to make a big trade somehow to add some production or they're not going to make the playoffs.

Granted it's tough to replace Pronger and Beauchemin, but does anyone really believe the whole team except Cory Perry will underachieve all year? I don't think so. The Ducks have had a lot of slow starts over the years. Getzlaf is not only hurt but has always been a slow starter (by the way AB, Getzlaf is 0 in +/-). Giguere may yet be moved for some help on D (the biggest problem area for the team right now), but I doubt the Ducks should panic yet.

When is "0" a minus number?
Right, but you were saying something about Getzlaf being the only guy not mired in minuses. Actually half the team is not mired in minuses. Not that +/- means much.

Oh...okay. My point was Getz hurt or not is the guy having to carry a large load. Take away Pronger and the reality is, you're going to need to score more goals. They brought Saku in at 3.5 million to supply secondary scoring but that really isn't happening. With 3 points in 10 games(-5), he's on pace to score 8 goals and a total of about 25 points and basically just filler. You'd have to say he's a disappointment and definitely not making his mates better. I'd say if this keeps up, Koivu will have a really hard time finding another contract next season anywhere in this Cap conscientious league unless he plays for league minimum. The future doesn't look promising for Koivu who has produced his best numbers in October the last few years. Will he have anything in the tank to improve his numbers enough to make a positive difference to the Ducks? Time will tell but at least he's getting a nice sun tan.
Anyway...Anaheim is a top contender no matter how you measure it. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for them to finish lower than 4th in the West and win at least 2 rounds of playoffs!!!
...especially with the way Saku makes everyone around him better!!!
