A 30-year old d-man who has played for about 48 teams in the last 10 years.

He's got some size to him - 6'04" (215) so that's going for him.
Someone had some fun on wikapedia (sp) listing him as the captain of The New Jersy Devils.........

He skates better then Gill (who doesn't) and he's not afraid to drop the gloves . He's gone with guys like Clarkson,O'Brien, Bitz ,Malone ,Deveaux in his career.. Probably just a depth move..but we can only hope it spells the end to Bergeron. Might even mean Spacek might be more hurt then originally thought..at 6'4 220 he's definitely better equipped to handle the big guys of Philly, Boston, Toronto etc then Bergeron..

And placed Alex Henry on waivers. Henry injured an eye during the pre-season and still has not played a game since.

might be a decent pickup. we need some size and more grit. boston did kinda push the habs around last nite, habs sucked it up, took the hits to make plays.if mab is not going to ues his cannon shot, then he's basically a spinning top, which we don't need, and have enough of them. lets hope alex henry recovers and finds a place somewhere

It sounds to me like he's a one for one replacement of Henry. Henry was a depth / emergency call up type player who could drop the gloves and add size. Leach seems like exactly the same.

Sad to see BG having to pick up off the scrap heap at this point. 6 years later and we have nothing internally we can count on for Defense.
