My three sons and I went to the game tonight and the 'Dogs were eliminated in 6 games by the Grand Rapid Gryphons (Red Wings). The Bulldogs scored 9 seconds in and not again. If Halak is dealt, hope a veteran tender comes back, because Marc Denis is barely average.
I liked some of what I saw, but Weber looked out of step as did Stewart. Trotter was a real energy type of player and Chipchura played decent. Nobody else stood out. J.T. Wyman was the "Hardest Working Bulldog" for the game.
The Bulldogs outhshot the Gryphons by 23-18 or something like that, but most of their shots were from the periphery and when someone carried the puck in close, they usually made the extra move and gave the puck away.
I had heard that Jimmy Howard was the best goalie not in the NHL, but he wasn't terriblly tested.
The Gryphons had Darren McCarty and Aaron Downey in the line-up.
