Last night I get forwarded a link on my blackberry from my buddy who is playing in the sphl.

The link was to ticketmaster, for last nights Carolina Panthers vs Florida Panthers game...

The attendance for the game was 12,000.. which is pathetic...

It gets worse... the link from ticketmaster was for a deal for $1.50 in the 400 level.

thats 75 cents a ticket!!!!

I now can say that people paid more money to see me play in junior freakin B! Then for an NHL game!!

What a pathetic joke of a team this is!

Yes Nilan...that is a joke! Sad stuff and what has Bettman seen in these markets besides franchise fees that are good for the league? Good thing for revenue sharing.

It is kind of nice when your in Florida to take a game in and pay $40 (for 2)to sit 5 rows up off the ice!!

How long will it take for the top gate team owners to just get totally fed up of supporting the other teams?

They won't get fed up. They need these bottom feeders (bottom as in attendance numbers) so that they can get their 41 home games. An 82 game schedule just isn't feasable with 22 teams.
Wonder how Phoenix's attendance is with the team doing so well (10-6-0, 4 pts out of first overall in the league)????

Monday they set an NHL attendance record..few tickets sold for game 5855 tickets (against LA)..that bested the record they set two nights early of 6000 and change against Anahiem..enough said!!!

Don't know about that. They introduced the 80-game schedule in the 70s, when there were around 18 teams in the league.

Heck, they had 72 games when there were only 6 teams. Back then, I knew every number of every player in the league.
