By the way my poke at O'Byrne is jsut an attempt at humour and not a slight of Koivu's accomplishments.

Not really Nilan. He's the only Hab who is always there for the team.

There are other threads for the problems on the Habs. IMO Koivu isn't one of them as you know.

HAVE YOU EVEN WATCHED THE GAMES? Listend to the sound bites? ANYTHING? GOOD LORD THIS IS ALARMING!

HE DOES NOTHING JOHN! NOTHING!

He will be famous though. he will be the longest serving captain without a single cup ring to show for it. Oh but thats the other guys faults.

And it was all Carbo's fault. Saku shouldnt have to innitiate anything or try and work things out with the coach, just run to upper management and bash the coach. Like a worm would.

This right here should be an EYE OPENER FOR THE KOIVU LOVERS!

You are now saying its ok because the Captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs had the same stat?

Is this real? Im sorry when did it become acceptable for the 24 time Stanley Cup Champions to rationalize something by using a Toronto Maple Leafs player??

I never said it was acceptable, just stating a fact...I am not a huge fan of his play in the last few years either

THEN SMASH HIM! AND SMASH THE REST OF THEM! I bet if we held tryouts of all the gohabers, i bet we would have a team with more heart than the current Habs have.

I agree 100%....Most of this team has shown no heart for a long time...we need more guys who work hard every night like Lapierre, K-Top, Gorges, Stewart

Nilan, you are all over the place. At the beginning of the year you were bashing Laps and Lats and saying to sign Komi to a long term deal and throw whatever $ at him as well as the captaincy.

Give your mind a rest, time for you to take a vacation...

A week before Carbo got fired it was expletive-filled posts about Carbo.

I have a suggestion. Can we just wait for this season to play out, and the media scandal going with it, plus the team sale, etc...? It just seems there are so many off-ice/management/dressingroom/whoknows factors at the heart of the team's collapse. Why not just cheer for the team for now? Let's keep our discussion about what goes on on the ice and wait 'til later for the postmortem speculations about the off-ice situations.

Putting those numbers in perspective again, it is amazing what the 160lb Naslund(in a time when small players were rare) accomplished. Similar points to Koivu in 5 less years of playing. No wonder Ken Campbell has him rated higher than koivu on his top 100 list. Naslund also won a Cup so obviously winning a Cup is key but even with that accomplishment, Naslund will never have his number retired. That was one smurf that I enjoyed watching. Very fast and skilled.

Indeed, Naslund was a great former Hab. Very similar to Sak in regards to heart and determination.
