La Presse reports that Martin had negotiated a trade with Philly just before this year's trade deadline. Bouwmeester would have gone to Philly in return for 2 prospects. Florida's owner vetoed the trade. La Presse also reports that because Florida did not make the playoffs, Martin did not receive a $500,000.00 bonus and an extra year on his contract losing approximately $1.5M total.
